How to Measure Your Bed Size

In order to ensure you’re purchasing the correct size for your tonneau cover or bed rails, you’ll want to make sure that your bed is being measured correctly.  Trucks usually come in 2-3 different bed sizes, the most common being 5.5 foot, 6.5 foot or 8 foot.  The model that you purchase needs to be the model made specifically for your bed size.  Some truck owners may not immediately know their bed size, especially if the truck was purchased second-hand.

Instructions for Measuring Your Bed Size

Measuring is actually quite easy – simply take a tape measure and measure between the bulkhead (near the cab) inside the truck bed all the way to the inside of the tailgate (the pivot point of your tailgate).
