Is a truck bed mat or a spray-in liner better?

A truck bed mat will be cheaper, quicker and easier to install. After we deliver the truck bed mat to your door, you simply take it out of the box and throw it into your truck cab.

A spray-in liner is a great option if you want something that is longer term, and something to protect the sides of your truck bed as well. Keep in mind, we do have a couple of bed rug mats that do cover the sides as well.

Some people even add a truck bed mat on top of their spray-in liner. The rubber mat gives your truck some extra grip, which helps prevent your cargo from sliding around as much.

Why would I want carpet in my truck bed?

You'll notice we have a couple of options for a carpet-like truck bed mat. This material dries quickly, so it won't get soggy or moldy like normal carpet, but it has the look and feel of carpet.

The reason people want this carpet truck mat is:

1) It is softer on your cargo. If your cargo is prone to dents, dings, scrapes and damage, especially when sliding around, the carpet will be a better option. It will be softer on your cargo mat.
2) Carpet has more "give" than hard rubber/plastic options, making it a little more forgiving for your knees. If you need to crawl around your truck bed to pull cargo, you will probably be happier with the carpet version

Can I have a spray-in liner underneath my truck bed mat?

The answer is "it depends". Our truck bed liners are custom fit, meaning they will fit your truck bed from edge to edge, corner to corner. If your spray-in liner is thin, this probably won't be an issue.

If you have a thick spray-in liner, that extra thickness may change the floor pan design just enough that the truck bed liner will not fit perfectly exact. In this case you may need to trim the truck bed liner to make it fit better.

How much are truck bed mats?

Truck bed mats range between $43 - $453, depending on how much protection you want. The low end price will cover just the inside of the tailgate area, whereas the higher end prices give you total truck bed protection, including the truck bed itself, inside the tailgate, sides, and bulkhead section.

For just the truck bed portion, prices range between $94.95 - $302 depending on the truck bed mat.

Do all trucks come with bed mats?

Some do, but not all. It depends on what dealership accessories or trim level options are available for the particular truck, and if the original owner purchased the option.

Most base level trucks do not come with a bed liner or bed mat. These base level trucks only have the painted surface area, which will start scratching and dinging as soon as you start hauling cargo.

The best thing to do is to immediately add a truck bed mat or liner as soon as you get a new truck, to prevent any dings or scratches. If you have an older truck, or it already has numerous dings and scratches, a truck bed mat is a good way to hide the damage.
