  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Unscrew the clamp that secures the diverter valve to the engine intake manifold.
  3. Pull the diverter valve out of the manifold.
  4. Install the new diverter valve in the manifold.
  5. Secure the valve with the clamp.
  6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
