What are fog lights?

Fog lights are auxiliary lighting that is used in foggy or misty conditions. They are generally mounted lower on the vehicle and have a long, wide beam pattern that helps increase visibility.

What is the purpose of fog lights?

Fog lights are designed to provide better visibility in poor weather conditions such as fog, mist, snow, and rain. The specially designed beam pattern reduces glare and illuminates a wider area than regular headlights.

How can I tell if my fog lights are faulty?

If your fog lights are faulty, you may notice that the lights are not illuminating correctly, or that the lights are flickering or dim. You may also notice that the lights are not responding correctly when the switch is engaged.

Can a faulty fog light cause damage to my vehicle?

Yes, a faulty fog light may cause electrical damage to your vehicle. The wiring and connections may be damaged if the fog light is not working correctly.

How do I replace a fog light?

  1. Locate the fog light assembly.
  2. Disconnect the negative side of the battery.
  3. Unscrew the retaining screws to remove the light assembly.
  4. Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the light assembly.
  5. Install the new light assembly and connect the wiring harness.
  6. Secure the light assembly with the retaining screws.
  7. Reconnect the negative side of the battery.
