Do I need to cut into my Ford Ranger to install these flares?

Most flares do not need any cutting your Ford Ranger to install. An exception to this is the Bushwacker Cut-Out fender flares which do require cutting.

For information on each fender flare set, please see our product page for information on installation and a link to the installation instructions.

As an example, the Bushwacker OE style flares for the 2019-2022 Ranger does not require any drilling or cutting. It uses the existing factory mount point locations and screws. A full set of instructions, along with all necessary hardware, will be shipped to you with your order.

The Ford Ranger is a small truck, won't flares look funny?

If you have standard size tires, we would recommend going with the Bushwacker OE style fender flares, as these will be the lowest profile. You are right, the Ford Ranger is smaller than average, so a bulky set of fender flares will stick out.

If you have large or oversized tires, you will likely need an Extended or Pocket set of fender flares. In fact, you may be required by your state law to provide this coverage. Check with your state DMV to determine legal requirements if you have large tires.

In the end, it comes down to personal preference. Plenty of people run large flares on a standard size Ford Ranger. If you do this, you may want to consider adding some wheel spacers to make your tires protrude out a little more and better match your Rangers' flares.

Do you have the stock flares?

We do not sell Ford brand fender flares. The brands we sell are all aftermarket. We do have a style that closely matches the OE style: Bushwacker OE style fender flares.

We highly recommend this set for the Ford Ranger, it looks really good! It makes your pickup truck look a little more buttoned up.

Will the 2018 set fit the 2019-2022 Ranger?

It will not, the 2019+ Ranger is a completely different truck. Among many other design changes, the wheel well specifications also changed, so the 2019-2022 set is different.

Our website will ask you what year Ford Ranger you have, just make sure to select the correct year and our website will direct you to the correct set.

If you are trying to retrofit an older set onto your newer Ranger, unfortunately it will not work, as the 2019+ is a new generation of Rangers.

Are the universal flares a good option for the Ranger?

The Husky universal flares are a one-size-fits-all flare application. It comes in a roll, and requires you to cut it down to size and drill into your vehicle for installation.

It is recommended to install a set of Ranger spec flares, so you won't need to bother with a custom installation. But this is a good option if you are looking for a custom job.

The universal flares provide a good amount of tire coverage, but they do not have any height to them. If you are trying to cover rust on an older Ranger, the universal flares are not a good option.
