The MagnaFlow Universal Catalytic Converter is a heavy metal converter. It does the best job when transforming exhaust to harmless gas and boosting airflow. Ceramic Honeycombed Catalyst
The converter contains two large ceramic honeycombed catalysts. They contain a greater concentration of catalytically active materials. This increases the volume of chemical reactions that break down harmful gases. Their large surface and a detailed coating process allow the exhaust to flow easily. MF innovative technology allows each catalyst to oxidize and reduce harmful emissions.
Rust and oxidation resistant
This cat is made from 100% stainless steel body and heat shield. It's strong and resistant to rust and oxidation. Such an emission control device should last the life of your application.
Innovative compact shape
Some models of this MagnaFlow Universal Catalytic Converter have a tubular body fabricated from one whole section. It's spun tightly around the ceramic catalyst to keep the ceramic in proper alignment and to create its innovative compact shape. It's computer-generated and laser welded. Thick-gauge material forms the inlet and outlet for maximum durability and smooth exhaust flow.
Protection against heat damage
A ribbed body encases the ceramic catalyst and holds it in proper alignment. It reduces expansion and distortion when the cat reaches its high operating temperature. Some models sport an outer ribbed shield as well. It offers a final layer of protection against heat damage and reinforces the structural stability of the converter.
Strong, tight bond
The 100% stainless steel inner converter body that encases the ceramic catalysts is seam welded to the outer stainless steel heat shield. This kind of welding forms a strong bond between the converter's components and prevents them from becoming loose or shifting.

The MagnaFlow Universal Catalytic Converter is a universal-fit design. As such, you should expect some modifications such as welding, cutting, fabrication, and bending to ensure a perfect fitment. For these reasons, professional installation is highly recommended.
Leak-free cat
This converter features a 1/2 inches lap joint where the neck and body of the cat overlap. The joint preempts the neck from extending into the body, where it could hinder exhaust flow. It also prevents leakage.
Gauging your cat's performance
Oxygen sensors are generally placed in front of the cat and behind it. On some applications, a few are plugged on the cat itself. Their role is to gauge the performance of your cat to ensure that it works great.
