It uses EPDM construction and OEM-style molded shaping to match the original hose path for service replacement on vehicles such as the 1978 Chrysler LeBaron, 1977 Dodge Dart, and 1955-1956 Chevrolet Bel Air.

The Gates Molded Coolant Hose line is engineered for radiator, bypass, heater, and other coolant circuits where a formed hose is required. Part number 20945 is shaped for direct replacement use in applications that call for a molded upper hose with 1.5-inch inside diameters at both ends and an 11.6-inch centerline length.

Key Features

EPDM rubber construction for coolant-system service

Molded hose profile for OE-style routing

1.5 in. inside diameter at End 1 and End 2

11.6 in. centerline length

No spring, no modular sections, and no quick-connect fittings

Upper hose application for listed vehicles

Gates 20945 replacement hose for radiator coolant service

Product Details

Gates 20945 is a formed coolant hose intended for vehicles that require a molded upper radiator hose rather than a straight universal hose. The EPDM material is selected for cooling-system duty, and the molded shape helps match the factory hose path in applications where clearance and routing matter. This part number is listed for upper-position use on vehicles including the 1978 Chrysler LeBaron, 1978 Chrysler Town & Country, 1976-1978 Dodge Aspen, 1975-1978 Dodge B100, 1975-1978 Dodge B200, 1975-1978 Dodge B300, 1977 Dodge Dart, 1955-1956 Chevrolet Bel Air, and 1955-1956 Pontiac Laurentian.

This part cross-references Dayco 70744 and Continental 60974 for the same application. Gates 20945 is a practical choice when replacing a worn or leaking molded radiator hose on classic Chrysler, Dodge, Chevrolet, or Pontiac cooling systems.

Common Problems This Hose Can Address

Coolant leaks from a cracked or aged upper radiator hose

Softening, swelling, or collapse of the original hose

Improper hose routing after prior repair work

Loss of coolant from hose-end deterioration

Cooling-system service on vehicles requiring a molded hose shape

Installation Notes and Tips

Verify the hose routing, end diameters, and centerline length before installation. This hose is listed for upper-position applications only, so confirm the vehicle’s cooling layout and match it to the original part shape. Inspect hose necks, clamps, and adjacent cooling components for wear before installing Gates 20945. For best results, install on a cool engine and refill the cooling system according to the vehicle service procedure.

Quality Assurance

Gates Molded Coolant Hoses are built to OEM-quality specifications for replacement use in radiator and other coolant applications.
