How do I replace a steering shaft?

  1. Disconnect the battery and remove the airbag.
  2. Remove the steering wheel and the lower steering column cover.
  3. Disconnect the lower steering shaft from the steering gearbox.
  4. Remove the steering shaft from the steering column.
  5. Install the new steering shaft and reconnect the lower steering shaft to the steering gearbox.
  6. Reinstall the steering wheel and the lower steering column cover.
  7. Reconnect the battery and reinstall the airbag.
