Who is Eric Cook?

Eric has been passionate about cars for the longest time, but it was not all shortcuts for it was indeed a bumpy road for him at the start. When he was a teenager, he found an interest in fine arts and engaged himself in drawing, sculpting and painting then took up fine arts in college, but dropped out.

He found an 18-month automotive program at the Rosedale Technical Institute and decided it would be a swell task since he had prior experience to fixing cars. From there, he found dedication, strived for the best, and become the top of his class at graduation.

Eric found a career in working with cars and he never felt more alive from there. Eventually, he found a passion for video production and later on gave him the idea to start a Youtube channel on car repairs last 2009 and formed a website after that.

Read up on our interview with Eric below:

As an auto enthusiast, what gives you the greatest satisfaction?

My greatest satisfaction actually comes from when one of my fans reaches out and tells me about a repair that they made as a result of my videos. My intent has always been to help people with their auto repair issues. It’s always great to hear that I’ve actually accomplished that goal.

If you could pick one car to call your favorite, what would it be?

My favorite would have to be my 1979 Ford Fairmont because it is the first car that I built. It’s one thing to go out and buy a dream car, it’s quite another to build one to the exact specifications that you know every inch of.

What is your edge over the others in the auto industry?

I think what makes me different is the fact that I’m not afraid to show my mistakes in my videos. To me, this is important so that the viewer can know that even the ‘pros’ make mistakes. I think this motivates them to try things they normally wouldn’t. I hope that it also shows them they can learn as much, if not more, from their mistakes as they do their successes.

What can we expect to see from you in the future?

My plan is to build the 1990 Chevy C1500 Sport my father gave to me last year. My hope is to have the truck done before the Hot Rod Power Tour next year. I’d love for us both to be able to do the trip in vehicles that I built. I think that would be really cool. Not to mention I owe my father a lot, it would be nice to give something back to him.

We are definitely excited to see what Eric Cook has in store for all auto enthusiasts worldwide. If you wish to know more about him, visit his accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and check out his website for more updates on what’s next at EricTheCarGuy.
