What are headers?

Headers are exhaust components that connect to the engine's cylinder heads and extend to the exhaust pipe.

What is the purpose of headers?

Headers are designed to increase the engine's efficiency and power by providing a smoother flow of exhaust gases.

How can I tell if my headers are faulty?

Look for signs of corrosion or leaks from the exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe. If you hear any unusual noises coming from the engine, it may be an indication of a faulty header.

Can a faulty header cause damage to my engine?

Yes, a faulty header can cause damage to your engine as it can cause exhaust gases to not flow correctly, which can reduce engine performance.

How do I replace my header?

1) Disconnect the battery and remove the air cleaner assembly.
2) Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
3) Unbolt the exhaust manifold from the cylinder head and remove the header.
4) Install the new header and secure it to the cylinder head with bolts.
5) Reconnect the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold and reinstall the air cleaner assembly.
6) Reconnect the battery.

How often should I inspect my headers?

It is recommended that you inspect your headers every 6 months or 6,000 miles (whichever comes first) for any signs of wear or damage.
