How do you replace an engine valve cover retainer?

1) Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2) Remove the valve cover.
3) Unscrew the old valve cover retainer and remove it.
4) Place the new valve cover retainer in the same position as the old one and screw it in place.
5) Replace the valve cover.
6) Reconnect the negative battery cable.

How often should you inspect your engine valve cover retainer?

It is recommended that you inspect your engine valve cover retainer every 6 months or 6,000 miles (whichever comes first) for signs of wear or damage.
