How do I clean my fender flares after installation?

Now that you have your fender flares installed, it’s a good idea to keep up with the maintenance on them. Part of this maintenance includes cleaning them regularly. A little care and attention to your fender flares can help to make all the difference between a healthy vehicle and a corroded and rusted old bucket. 

To clean up you fender flares you will want to wash them down with a mild soap and water. It is important to make sure you do not use any wax, or chemicals which are abrasive in nature. A good rule of thumb would be to keep your fender flares cleaned and maintained at least weekly. If however you are hitting the trails more often or driving in areas they will get dirtier more frequently, then by all means use your discretion to clean them more often.

Cleaning your painted fender flares is not really much different than the unfinished ones, with one exception. You have two separate choices when it comes to cleaning painted fender flares, soap and water, or car wax. You must stay away from any car wax when you have unfinished flares, but with painted ones, it can help to not only clean, but add shine and a layer of protection to them.  

Protecting your fender flares will help to ensure an extended life by reinforcing their material compound, and keeping them protected from harmful UV rays.
