How can I tell if my engine needs service?

Signs that your engine may need service include: reduced engine power; strange noises coming from the engine; check engine light coming on; rough idling or stalling; and excessive smoke coming from the exhaust.

What components should I inspect during engine service?

During engine service, you should inspect the engine oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, timing belt, coolant levels and hoses, and any worn or damaged components.

How often should I inspect my engine?

It is recommended that you inspect your engine every 3,000 miles or as recommended by your vehicle’s manufacturer.

To replace an engine component, you will need to drain the oil, remove the old component and any associated parts, clean the area, and then attach the new component and any associated parts.
