How do you replace a transmission switch?

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the transmission linkage from the shift lever.
  3. Remove the electrical connectors from the switch.
  4. Remove the switch from the transmission.
  5. Install the new switch and reconnect the electrical connectors.
  6. Reconnect the transmission linkage to the shift lever.
  7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
