Your differential is one of the hardest-working components in your drivetrain, managing power distribution to the wheels while allowing them to turn at different speeds during cornering. A differential cover is a simple but essential component that seals the differential housing, contains the gear oil that keeps internal components lubricated, and protects everything inside from road debris, water intrusion, and physical impacts. Without a sound cover, your differential would lose oil, corrode internally, and fail prematurely—potentially leaving you stranded and facing a repair bill in the thousands of dollars.
What Is a Differential Cover?
A differential cover is a protective metal or composite housing bolted to the bottom or rear of your differential assembly.
