I recently had my valves tested by a local shop since ive heard from other owners that the ls7 valves drop at any given time. I had two valves out of specs and have to get it fixed in order to save engine from future damage. My car currently has 52,241 miles.

Yes ,when driving the corvette on the highway and the engine blew up and quit working everything potentially causing an accident to me at that time i was very scared.........the valve dropped through the 8th cylinder, while driving almost causing drivers to crash.
-
Dangerous conditions. Exhaust valve design causes ear that eventually breaks exhaust valve and destroys engine. Exhaust valve loose enough to break and cause engine damage, possible fire and/or flammable fluid leakage. Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtoa3vlgoes
How to read this page
Every figure comes from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public complaint database, which holds every safety-related defect complaint filed by owners since 1995. We refresh it monthly and count each complaint once per component it names. Data through September 6, 2026.
NHTSA only accepts safety-related complaints. Rattles, paint, infotainment bugs and other annoyances are under-reported here, so this page is a map of what fails in ways owners consider dangerous, not a full reliability score.
Counts are raw. Use the year-over-year shape and the component mix, not the absolute numbers. Where a component maps to parts we stock, the row links to that category filtered to the year you are viewing. Air bag and seat belt complaints link to the recall checker instead, because those repairs are almost always covered.
