The dealer years ago just put an insert into the key. Now the ignition does not properly work. You have to wiggle the key for operation. Sometimes the car won't start,other times the components won't work unless i wiggle the key. Car has 57,000 miles. Was part of the original recall for ignition problems.

2000 chevrolet monte carlo stops while driving down the highway, loose power steering and brakes*cw the consumer is seeking reimbursement for the replacement of the ignition switch. *jb

Key is stuck in ignition and will not release nor completely shut off engine. Lock cylinder was replaced a year ago. Believe that the ignition lock cylinder needs to be replaced.
