We were turning around in a parking lot when we heard a bang come from the front of the truck. The steering wheel then had no resistance, we then put the truck in park, exited the vehicle, saw that the lower end of the steering drag link ball joint had sheared off. Then we parked the vehicle and waited for a tow.

Frame rusted through in several places. Service provider had problems placing truck on lift due to frame integrity to replace brake lines. Upon my inspection frame is rusted through in several places. Cannot determine if truck is safe to drive.

I've heard this called the "dodge death wobble". It's a violent uncontrolled front end shimmy or wobble that starts at highway speed when the vehicle hits a minor bump or depression. It doesn't stop shaking until slowing to near stop. Usually a panic stop on the freeway. Very dangerous.
