In owners' words

Complaint narratives as filed with NHTSA, trimmed for length.

  • 2006 · SteeringMileage not given

When first started sometimes power steering does not work. Temporary fix is to restart the car. It's gone out while I was driving. This is very scary and hard to turn when it goes out.

  • 2007 · SteeringMileage not given

Power steering failure. By losing power steering it puts me and others at risk because the vehicle is very hard to steer. Warning lamp started coming on and going off when the vehicle was turned off and restarted. It has since stopped having power steering and the light stays on.

  • 2008 · SteeringMileage not given

While in operation power assist stops working requires heavy input from driver to steer. Power assist works again on restart but issue reoccurring randomly. Their is a recall on this model for the same issue but being told my vehicle is not covered under that recall. Recall #14V153000 issued on 3/31/14.

How to read this page

Every figure comes from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public complaint database, which holds every safety-related defect complaint filed by owners since 1995. We refresh it monthly and count each complaint once per component it names. Data through September 6, 2026.

NHTSA only accepts safety-related complaints. Rattles, paint, infotainment bugs and other annoyances are under-reported here, so this page is a map of what fails in ways owners consider dangerous, not a full reliability score.

Counts are raw. Use the year-over-year shape and the component mix, not the absolute numbers. Where a component maps to parts we stock, the row links to that category filtered to the year you are viewing. Air bag and seat belt complaints link to the recall checker instead, because those repairs are almost always covered.
