In owners' words

Complaint narratives as filed with NHTSA, trimmed for length.

  • 2007 · Fuel system4000 mi

"herky-jerky" is when fuel shuts off at 1-5% throttle, not 0%. Then it does not come back on until 5%+ throttle. It is impossible to hold a steady throttle between 1-5% throttle no matter what gear or what speed.

  • 2006 · Engine and cooling900 mi

At low rpm's or opening throttle from stop, the throttle abruptly engages and jerks me forward in an uncontrolled manner. This could be serious if i were to loose control or take my attention away from the road or vehicles in front of me.

  • 1996 · Engine and coolingMileage not given

Would be riding motorcycle; it would die out regardless whether driving or standing still at stop sign/light; speed varied; took to 2 dealer & could not find probolem; talked to manufacturer & given run around. *ak

How to read this page

Every figure comes from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public complaint database, which holds every safety-related defect complaint filed by owners since 1995. We refresh it monthly and count each complaint once per component it names. Data through September 6, 2026.

NHTSA only accepts safety-related complaints. Rattles, paint, infotainment bugs and other annoyances are under-reported here, so this page is a map of what fails in ways owners consider dangerous, not a full reliability score.

Counts are raw. Use the year-over-year shape and the component mix, not the absolute numbers. Where a component maps to parts we stock, the row links to that category filtered to the year you are viewing. Air bag and seat belt complaints link to the recall checker instead, because those repairs are almost always covered.
