ATE 240015 Disc Brake Caliper - Rear Left

Disc Brake Caliper for Volkswagen Rear Left

ATE disc brake caliper 240015 is a floating caliper built for rear left brake applications on select Volkswagen models. It is a direct-fit hydraulic brake component for drivers replacing a worn or sticking caliper on the Volkswagen Corrado, Golf, Jetta, Passat, or Quantum.

Key Features

• Floating caliper design for consistent brake pad movement and clamping action.
• Pads not included, so you can match the caliper with the correct pad set for the application.
• ATE brake hydraulics engineering backed by extensive endurance testing and simulation.
• Built with materials and manufacturing methods used in fixed and floating aluminum and nodular cast iron calipers.
• Part number 240015 for accurate ordering and catalog matching.

Detailed Description

ATE 240015 is a rear left disc brake caliper for Volkswagen applications, including the Corrado, Golf, Jetta, Passat, and Quantum. As a floating caliper, it is designed to move with the brake pads during operation, helping maintain proper contact and braking response in the hydraulic brake system. The ATE Disc Brake Fist Caliper line is supported by the brand’s testing process and materials expertise, making it a practical choice for restoring brake function on vehicles that need a replacement caliper. This part number 240015 is also referenced by cross numbers such as 0 986 471 673 and BHN128 for the same application.

What It Is Used For

• Replacing a seized or sticking rear brake caliper.
• Restoring uneven braking caused by caliper wear or internal hydraulic issues.
• Addressing brake fluid leakage at the caliper body or piston area.
• Correcting pad drag, poor release, or reduced braking performance.

Installation Notes and Quality

Verify rear left fitment by year, chassis notes, and model before installation. This caliper is listed for 1990-1993 Volkswagen Corrado, 1991-1992 Volkswagen Golf, 1988-1992 Volkswagen Jetta, 1992-1993 Volkswagen Passat, and 1986-1988 Volkswagen Quantum in rear left applications. Pads are not included. ATE states that its calipers undergo demanding endurance testing and simulation before release, and the brand is recognized for fixed and floating calipers made from aluminum and nodular cast iron. Part number 240015 should be matched carefully to the vehicle’s chassis breakpoints and brake configuration.
