Detailed Description

Baldwin P40010 is an engine oil filter designed around the listed OE dimensions for Volkswagen and Audi oil filter housings. It is a practical replacement for vehicles such as the Audi A3, A4, Q5, Q7, S3, and the Volkswagen Beetle, Golf, GTI, Jetta, Passat, Tiguan, and Atlas family, along with select Porsche Macan applications. The filter’s measured height, outside diameter, and inside diameter help ensure the correct fit in the housing, while the included O-ring supports a proper seal during installation. This part number, P40010, is also referenced by OE numbers 6L115562 and 6K115562 for related applications.

What This Filter Helps Address

• Dirty engine oil that needs routine replacement
• Oil contamination from normal engine wear
• Loss of filtration efficiency over extended service intervals
• Seal leakage at the filter housing when the O-ring is worn
• Incorrect filter sizing when replacing OE-style cartridges

Installation Notes and Tips

• Verify the OE number on the existing filter housing before installation.
• Replace the O-ring during service and lubricate it with clean engine oil before assembly.
• Confirm the filter seats fully in the housing and tighten the cap to the vehicle manufacturer’s specification.
• Check for leaks after the engine is started and oil pressure stabilizes.
