Product Line Details

Bendix Premium Brake Shoes is the brand’s premium drum brake offering within the Bendix Premium Copper Free range. The line is focused on copper-free brake friction for North American requirements while maintaining the fit, function, and braking characteristics expected in everyday service.

Detailed Description

Bendix Friction 574 is a rear drum brake shoe designed for Nissan rear brake applications that require a copper-free replacement. The friction material is formulated for consistent braking response, and the OE match levers help preserve the original brake shoe geometry and operation. This makes it a practical choice for rear brake maintenance on vehicles such as the Nissan Frontier rear, Nissan Xterra rear, and Nissan Pickup rear across multiple model years.

This part cross-references Monroe Shocks & Struts (e.g., 172286, 182286) for the same application.

What It Helps Address

• Rear brake noise caused by worn drum shoes
• Reduced braking response from thin or glazed friction material
• Uneven rear braking from aged shoe linings
• Brake pull related to inconsistent rear shoe contact
• Service needs on copper-free brake systems

Installation Notes and Tips

• Verify rear drum size and brake configuration before installation, especially on Nissan Pickup, Pathfinder, and Xterra applications with listed brake dimensions.
• Inspect drums, wheel cylinders, return springs, and adjusters during service to restore full braking performance.
• Clean the backing plate and contact points before fitting the new shoes.
• Follow the vehicle service manual for adjustment and bedding procedures after installation.
