Detailed Description

When servicing a disc brake caliper, sealing components are critical to consistent brake operation. Carlson 41007 is built for front caliper repair on vehicles including 1968-1972 Ford LTD, 1968-1971 Ford Thunderbird, 1970-1972 Lincoln Continental, 1968-1972 Mercury Colony Park, and 1968-1972 Mercury Marquis, along with select Chrysler and Dodge models such as Chrysler Newport, Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger. This part number 41007 is also referenced for D33 and D84/D85 brake applications where listed in the fitment data.

This part cross-references Monroe Shocks & Struts (e.g., 172286, 182286) for the same application.

What It Helps Fix

• Brake fluid leakage at the caliper seal area
• Sticking or uneven caliper piston movement
• Reduced brake pedal consistency from worn sealing components
• Brake drag caused by deteriorated boots or seals
• Front brake service needs on older disc brake systems

Installation Notes and Tips

• Confirm caliper type and brake code before ordering; fitment varies by vehicle and brake system.
• Inspect the caliper bore, piston, and slide surfaces before reassembly.
• Clean all sealing surfaces thoroughly before installing the new boot and square cut seals.
• Use the vehicle-specific fitment notes for D33, D84, or D85 brake applications where shown.

Quality Assurance

Carlson brake service components are built for brake system repair where sealing performance matters. The included boot and square cut seals are intended to restore the caliper’s sealing function during normal operation.
