Detailed Description

This Centric caliper rebuild kit is intended for rebuilding a worn or leaking disc brake caliper rather than replacing the entire assembly. The 54 mm diameter specification helps identify the correct service kit for the application, and the included sealing components address the internal wear points that commonly affect hydraulic performance. Part number 143.35004 is listed across many front brake applications, including Volkswagen Beetle, Volkswagen Jetta, and Audi A3 models, with additional coverage for several other European vehicles. This part cross-references Monroe Shocks & Struts (e.g., 172286, 182286) for the same application.

Common Problems It Can Address

• Brake fluid seepage from worn caliper seals
• Sticking or inconsistent caliper piston movement
• Loss of hydraulic pressure at the caliper
• Brake drag caused by deteriorated internal rubber components
• Reduced braking performance from aged caliper hardware inside the housing

Installation Notes and Tips

Confirm the caliper diameter and vehicle-specific brake configuration before ordering. Fitment notes include variations for disc size, brake supplier type, chassis breakpoints, and left/right applicability on select vehicles. Professional brake service procedures should be followed during disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly to ensure the caliper is rebuilt correctly.

Quality Assurance

Centric Parts positions these rebuild kits as high-quality service components for restoring calipers to like-new condition. Part number 143.35004 is part of the Centric Premium Disc Brake Caliper Repair Kits line.
