Cloyes 9-5537 Engine Timing Chain Tensioner - Right Lower

Cloyes Timing Chain Tensioner 9-5537

The Cloyes 9-5537 timing chain tensioner is built for specific GM, Cadillac, Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Saab, Saturn, Pontiac, and Suzuki applications that use a right lower timing chain tensioner. It is designed to maintain proper chain tension with hydraulic/spring operation for quiet, consistent engine timing control.

As part of the Cloyes Timing Chain Tensioner line, this component is CAD designed and manufactured with advanced materials, then tested for function and durability. Cloyes timing chain tensioners are engineered to meet or exceed OEM performance requirements for direct replacement service.

Detailed Product Overview

The Cloyes 9-5537 timing chain tensioner helps maintain the correct chain load in engines where timing stability is critical. Proper tension supports accurate camshaft and crankshaft synchronization, which is especially important in vehicles such as the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave, Cadillac CTS, and GMC Acadia. This part cross-references 95537 and 12609263 for the same application.

For service work on a Chevrolet Impala, Cadillac ATS, or Buick LaCrosse, replacing a worn tensioner with the correct Cloyes timing chain tensioner can restore proper chain control when the original unit has lost pressure, worn internally, or no longer holds tension reliably.

What This Part Helps Address

• Timing chain slack
• Rattling or ticking from the timing cover area
• Inconsistent chain tension at startup
• Timing-related drivability concerns caused by worn tensioner components
• Service replacement for a failed right lower timing chain tensioner
