Detailed Description

This Dayco curved radiator hose is engineered for the upper radiator connection on the 1994 Chevrolet Lumina. The EPDM rubber construction is suited for coolant exposure and everyday engine-bay temperatures, while the curved shape helps maintain the original hose routing. If you are replacing a deteriorated upper hose on a Chevrolet Lumina, Dayco 71694 provides the correct size and configuration for the application.

This part cross-references ACDelco 24305L and Gates 22077 for the same application. Dayco 71694 is also listed under common interchange numbers including CARQUEST 22077, Duralast E71694, General Motors 10245450, Goodyear 62106, and NAPA 8758.

Common Problems It Can Solve

• Coolant leaks from a cracked or aged upper radiator hose
• Softening, swelling, or collapse of the hose under heat and pressure
• Improper hose routing after a previous replacement
• Loss of coolant flow caused by a restricted or damaged hose
• Visible wear, splitting, or dry-rot in the cooling system hose

Installation Notes and Tips

Verify the hose routing and end diameters before installation on the 1994 Chevrolet Lumina. Inspect the radiator neck and engine connection points for corrosion, residue, or sharp edges that could shorten hose life. Replace clamps if they are worn or no longer hold proper tension, and refill the cooling system according to the vehicle service procedure after installation.

Quality Assurance

Dayco manufactures this radiator coolant hose to meet SAE J20R4 Class D-1 and SAE J1684 Type EC requirements, supporting consistent material and dimensional standards for cooling-system service.
