Denso’s Mass Air Flow Sensor line focuses on OE-style airflow measurement for engine management systems. This unit is a direct-fit style sensor for select Subaru Legacy, Outback, Forester, Impreza, Baja, Tribeca, and B9 Tribeca models, as well as Mazda 3, CX-7, and 6 applications, plus Jaguar Vanden Plas, XJ8, and XK8 coverage. The 197-6040 is also cross-referenced to ACDelco 214-4238 and Airtex 5S2954 for the same application.

By measuring incoming air accurately, the sensor helps the engine control system maintain proper fuel delivery and air-fuel balance. That makes it a practical replacement when the original sensor is contaminated, worn, or no longer reporting airflow correctly.
