Product Details

The Denso Iridium Long Life line is engineered for drivers who want an OE-style spark plug with durable electrode materials and consistent ignition characteristics. Part number 5090 is built around an iridium firing tip and platinum chip ground design to help maintain spark quality over time, making it a practical choice for vehicles that call for long-life secondary ignition service. This part cross-references DENSO Auto Parts ZTJ16R10 for the same application.

Compatible With applications such as 2017-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, 2017-2019 GMC Sierra 3500 HD, 2000-2014 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2000-2014 GMC Yukon, and 1994-1997 Ford Mustang. The 5090 spark plug also appears in fitment for Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Chevrolet Corvette, Cadillac Escalade, GMC Sierra 1500, and Chevrolet Camaro applications across the listed model years.

Common Issues This Part Can Address

• Hard starting caused by worn spark plug electrodes
• Rough idle from inconsistent ignition output
• Misfire conditions related to aged secondary ignition components
• Reduced throttle response from degraded spark delivery
• Service intervals that call for OE-style long-life spark plugs

Installation Notes and Tips

Verify the tapered seat, 14.00 mm thread diameter, 18.00 reach, and 16.0 hex size before installation. Confirm the specified gap and compare the old plug to the replacement before threading it into the cylinder head. Use proper spark plug service procedures and torque to the vehicle manufacturer’s specification.

Quality Assurance

Denso states that this spark plug is manufactured to strict OE performance, durability, and emissions standards. The Iridium Long Life design is intended to deliver consistent service in applications that specify this plug style, including Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, GMC Sierra 2500 HD, and Chevrolet Tahoe fitments.
