Detailed Description

Designed for front parking brake cable replacement on select Dodge Ram van and Dodge B-Series van models, this cable is engineered to match OE dimensions and operating characteristics. It is a practical choice when restoring parking brake function on a 2000-2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Van, 1999-2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Van, 1999-2003 Dodge Ram 3500 Van, or 1998 Dodge B1500, B2500, and B3500. This part cross-references Raybestos Brakes BC95456 for the same application. The Dorman C660290 helps maintain proper cable routing and consistent brake engagement with a specific-fit design.

What It Helps Fix

• Parking brake that will not hold the vehicle securely
• Broken, stretched, or seized parking brake cable
• Uneven or inconsistent parking brake engagement
• Corrosion-related cable binding or poor movement
• Restoration of parking brake operation after cable wear

Installation Notes and Tips

Verify the front-position application and cable length before installation. Inspect cable routing, retaining points, and adjacent brake hardware for wear or corrosion before installing the new cable. Because mounting hardware is not included, reuse or source the required hardware as needed for the vehicle. Confirm fitment against the vehicle’s year, make, and model before service.

Quality Assurance

Dorman engineers and tests this parking brake cable to match original-equipment fit and performance on the listed vehicles. The corrosion-resistant materials and durable construction are selected to support dependable operation in brake system use.
