Detailed Description

Dorman C95436 is a replacement parking brake cable designed for vehicles that need a precise OE-style fit. It matches the original cable’s function and performance on specific applications, including 1998-2007 Ford Taurus rear left, 1998-2005 Mercury Sable rear left, and 2000-2001 Ford Sable rear left. The cable length is 32.5 in, and the corrosion-resistant materials help support long-term reliability in everyday braking use. This part cross-references Raybestos Brakes BC95436 for the same application.

For buyers searching for a rear left parking brake cable for Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable, C95436 provides a direct-fit replacement option with the correct conduit and jacket configuration. The rubber outer sleeve and black finish help maintain a clean, OE-style installation.

What It Helps Fix

  • Parking brake cable stretch or loss of tension
  • Broken, frayed, or seized rear parking brake cable
  • Uneven parking brake engagement at the rear left wheel
  • Corrosion-related cable binding or poor release
  • Parking brake warning caused by worn cable hardware

Installation Notes and Tips

Verify vehicle year, make, model, and rear left position before installation. Compare the original cable length and routing path to confirm proper fit on your Ford Taurus, Mercury Sable, or Ford Sable application. Mounting hardware is not included, so reuse or source any required hardware separately if needed. Inspect related parking brake components for wear before completing the repair.
