Gates 25527 Radiator Coolant Hose - Lower or Upper

Flexible coolant hose for OE-style replacement

Gates 25527 is a Flexible Coolant Hose (Standard) built for radiator coolant routing where a formed hose is difficult to source or match. Its flexible construction helps it follow the angles and planes of many OE hose layouts, making it a practical choice for Jeep Cherokee, Wrangler, Comanche, and other classic applications.

With EPDM and steel construction, this Gates Vulco-Flex II hose is engineered for durability and an improved sealing surface to help resist leaks at the connection points. The 1.5 in. (38 mm) end and 1.75 in. (44 mm) end dimensions, along with a 15 in. (381 mm) centerline length, make Gates 25527 a direct-fit style solution for a wide range of upper and lower coolant hose applications.

Key features

• Flexible coolant hose for radiator coolant routing
• EPDM and steel construction for strength and heat resistance
• Improved sealing surface for greater leak resistance
• 1.5 in. (38 mm) end 1 and 1.75 in. (44 mm) end 2

Product details

The Gates Flexible Coolant Hose (Standard) line is designed for applications where a molded hose may not match the original routing or may be harder to source. This hose can bend in nearly any direction, helping replicate the shape of many OE coolant hoses while keeping replacement straightforward and cost-effective. It is a strong option for older vehicles that need a reliable radiator coolant hose with flexible routing, including Jeep Cherokee lower hose applications and Ford Mustang upper hose applications.

This part cross-references Dorman - HELP 67920 and Standard Ignition FH54 for the same application. Gates 25527 is also listed among interchange references for multiple OE-style coolant hose applications.

Common repair uses

• Replacing a leaking lower radiator hose
• Restoring coolant flow after hose cracking or hardening
• Matching an OE hose route when a molded hose is unavailable
• Repairing coolant loss caused by worn hose ends or poor sealing
• Servicing classic Jeep, Ford, Dodge, and Chevrolet cooling systems

Installation notes and tips

Verify end diameters and centerline length before installation. Gates 25527 uses a flexible, non-molded design, so final routing should match the vehicle’s original hose path without kinks or contact with hot or moving components. Confirm the application position, since this hose is listed for both upper and lower radiator hose locations across different vehicles.

Compatible fitment includes 1989-1997 Jeep Cherokee, lower; 1987-1994 Jeep Wrangler, lower; 1979 Ford F-150, upper; and 1967-1970 Ford Mustang, upper. Additional fitment covers Jeep CJ5, CJ7, Scrambler, Wagoneer, J10, J20, Dodge Dakota, and several Chevrolet, Chrysler, Buick, Cadillac, Mercury, and Oldsmobile applications.
