Product Details

Gates Radiator Cap/Cooling System Tester Adapter 31410 is built for technicians who need a direct threaded adapter for pressure testing cooling systems. The adapter is specified as a 52mm x 2.5mm buttress threaded cooling system adapter and is used with the Gates radiator cap and cooling system tester to accommodate multiple component sizes. This part cross-references Dorman - HELP 46819 and NGK 9126 for the same application. Common fitment includes Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, Ford Taurus, Jaguar XF, and Lincoln Navigator applications, along with many other vehicles listed below.

What It Helps Diagnose

• Coolant leaks at the radiator cap or recovery tank connection
• Loss of system pressure during cooling system testing
• Improper sealing at threaded coolant reservoir or cap interfaces
• Hard-to-trace overheating concerns related to pressure loss
• Fitment issues when using a tester on 52mm x 2.5mm buttress-threaded components

Installation Notes and Tips

Use this adapter only with the correct radiator cap and cooling system tester setup. Verify the thread style and diameter before testing, especially on vehicles such as the Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, and Jaguar XF. Confirm the component is clean and fully seated before applying pressure. Match the adapter to the vehicle’s cooling system connection to avoid cross-threading or inaccurate test results.

Quality Assurance

Gates manufactures this adapter as part of its radiator cap and cooling system tester adapter line for service use across multiple vehicle platforms. Part number 31410 is identified for direct ordering and application matching.
