Product Details

Gates 31435 is an engine cooling system pressure tester adapter made for use with a radiator cap and cooling system tester. The adapter helps bridge the tester to the vehicle’s cooling system components so pressure checks can be performed on the correct threaded opening. This part is listed for a broad range of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including GLC300, GLS450, C300, E350, GLE350, Sprinter 2500, and many others across model years from 1996 through 2023. If you are servicing Mercedes-Benz cooling system components, the 31435 adapter provides the threaded fit needed for accurate testing.

This part cross-references Dorman - HELP 46831 for the same application.

Common Uses

• Diagnosing coolant leaks in Mercedes-Benz cooling systems
• Pressure testing radiator caps and coolant recovery tanks
• Checking for loss of system pressure during cooling system service
• Verifying sealing at threaded cooling system openings
• Supporting routine maintenance on Mercedes-Benz GLC300, C300, and Sprinter applications

Installation Notes

Confirm the tester connection and threaded size before use. The adapter is specified as 60.5mm I.D. threaded, so it should be matched to the correct cooling system opening and tester setup. Install the adapter securely before applying pressure, and follow the pressure tester manufacturer’s procedure for the vehicle being serviced. For Mercedes-Benz applications such as GLC300, GLS450, and C300, verify the cooling system component being tested matches the listed fitment.
