Product Details

Gates part number 44020 is engineered as a standard engine water pump for vehicles that require reverse-rotation operation from an accessory belt drive. The pump uses a cast aluminum housing and a plastic impeller, and it is supplied with a pulley and metal gasket for service replacement. Gates states that each new pump is tested for seal and bearing function as well as leakage at both the casting and assembled unit level, supporting consistent cooling-system performance. This part cross-references Dayco DP1878 and GMB 120-4450 for the same application.

Compatible With select 2011-2024 Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Journey, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ram 1500, Ram 1500 Classic, Ram ProMaster 1500, Ram ProMaster 2500, Ram ProMaster 3500, Ram C/V, Chrysler 200, Dodge Avenger, and Volkswagen Routan applications. Use part number 44020 when matching the correct reverse-rotation water pump for these engine cooling repairs.

Common Repair Uses

• Coolant leaks from the water pump housing or seal area
• Overheating caused by reduced coolant circulation
• Noise from worn pump bearings
• Impeller wear that lowers coolant flow
• Cooling-system service on accessory-belt driven engines

Installation Notes

Verify reverse rotation, pulley style, outlet count, and accessory-belt drive before installation. Inspect the belt, tensioner, hoses, and mating surfaces during replacement, and clean the mounting area before installing the metal gasket. Confirm vehicle-specific fitment for your Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, or Ram 1500 application before final assembly.

Quality Assurance

Gates manufactures this water pump with premium alloy materials and performs functional testing of seals and bearings plus leakage testing of the casting and assembled pump. The result is an OE-quality fit replacement for routine cooling-system repair.
