Gates 91002 Cooling System Flush Gun Kit

Cooling System Flush Gun Kit for Service Work

The Gates Power Clean Flush Tool is a cooling system flush gun kit built to remove sludge and scale with clean water and compressed air. It uses a water-hammer flushing action to clean radiators, heat exchangers, hoses, and engine blocks without harsh chemicals or solvents.

For technicians servicing Audi, Honda, Ram, and other late-model vehicles, Gates 91002 provides a direct way to restore coolant flow and clean internal passages while helping maintain system integrity.

Key Features

• Uses clean water and compressed air for mechanical flushing action
• Helps remove accumulated sludge and scale deposits from cooling passages
• Cleans radiators, heat exchangers, hoses, and engine blocks
• Eliminates the need for harsh chemicals or solvents
• Supports cooling system service on a wide range of vehicles
• Gates Tool/Accessory line, part number 91002

Detailed Description

Gates 91002 is a Power Clean Flush Tool designed for cooling system maintenance on many import and domestic applications. It is especially relevant for vehicles such as Audi A3 Quattro, Audi Q5, Honda Accord, and Ram 1500, where cooling system cleanliness is critical to stable operating temperatures. The flush gun kit uses compressed air and water to create a pulsing flush that breaks loose buildup inside the system more effectively than a basic water rinse.

This part cross-references Dorman - HELP 91002 and interchange number 991002 for the same application.

What It Helps Address

• Restricted coolant flow caused by sludge buildup
• Scale deposits inside radiators and heater circuits
• Contaminants left behind after cooling system repairs
• Uneven heat transfer in engine blocks and heat exchangers
• Cooling system service on vehicles with sensitive replacement components

Installation Notes and Tips

• Use clean water and regulated compressed air during service.
• Flush the system until discharge runs clear and free of debris.
• Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s cooling system service procedure.
• Inspect hoses, clamps, radiator caps, and related components before refilling.
• Verify proper coolant mixture and bleed air from the system after service.

Quality Assurance

Gates positions the Power Clean Flush Tool as a service method that helps preserve cooling system integrity and supports warranty coverage on replacement parts, including water pumps, when used as part of proper maintenance procedures.
