Detailed Description

This Global Parts A/C compressor kit, part number 9611739, is made for 1990 Chevrolet Astro and 1990 GMC Safari applications. The kit format brings together the compressor and related service components so the technician can address the major wear items in the A/C system with one part number. If you are replacing a failed compressor on a Chevrolet Astro or GMC Safari, 9611739 provides an application-specific solution for the job.

The Compressor Kit New product line is organized around complete HVAC service parts rather than a single component. According to the manufacturer, these kits include the compressor, accumulator/filter drier, expansion device, and a rapid seal kit unless otherwise noted. That makes 9611739 a practical choice when the repair calls for multiple A/C system components to be replaced together.

This part cross-references Monroe Shocks & Struts (e.g., 172286, 182286) for the same application.

• Replacing a failed A/C compressor

Verify the vehicle application before ordering and compare the existing system layout to the kit contents. Follow standard A/C service procedures, including proper evacuation, component replacement, and system recharge after installation.
