Detailed Description

Mahle W39348 is engineered for transmission service where a stable seal at the oil pan is critical. The cork-rubber construction helps conform to the mating surfaces of the pan and case, while the OEM-standard specification supports service work on older GM rear-wheel-drive platforms. For technicians and restorers working on Chevrolet C10 and GMC Jimmy models, as well as Buick Regal and Pontiac Firebird applications, this gasket provides a straightforward replacement option for transmission pan resealing.

Common Repair Uses

• Transmission fluid seepage at the oil pan gasket
• Wet or stained pan rails after service
• Maintenance on older GM automatic transmissions
• Replacement during transmission pan removal and inspection
• Resealing after fluid and filter service

Installation Notes and Tips

Clean the pan rail and transmission case sealing surfaces thoroughly before installation. Inspect the pan for distortion around the bolt holes and correct any uneven areas before tightening. Follow the vehicle service manual for torque sequence and specification to help maintain an even seal. Verify the transmission code and application details before ordering, especially on 1970s and 1980s Chevrolet and GMC trucks, as well as Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac passenger cars.

Quality Assurance

Mahle gaskets are used by OEMs and technicians worldwide for sealing applications. W39348 is built to OEM-standard expectations for transmission service and is intended for reliable replacement use on the listed vehicles.
