Detailed Description
BC97517 is a direct-fit parking brake cable for 2006-2008 Lexus RX400h, rear left, and 2006-2007 Toyota Highlander, rear left. The measured cable and housing lengths are important for proper pedal feel, cable travel, and parking brake engagement, especially on vehicles where the rear brake cable routing must match factory dimensions. The Raybestos Element3 line focuses on brake components engineered for specific vehicle applications, making it a practical choice when replacing a worn or stretched parking brake cable on a Lexus RX400h or Toyota Highlander. Use this part when the original cable no longer holds tension correctly or when the parking brake system needs a replacement cable with the correct length and rear left fitment.
What It Is Used For
- Restoring parking brake engagement on a vehicle with a stretched or seized cable
- Correcting uneven parking brake operation at the rear left wheel
- Replacing a damaged cable housing that affects cable movement
- Addressing poor parking brake hold on Lexus RX400h and Toyota Highlander models
- Replacing a cable that no longer matches factory routing or length
Installation Notes and Tips
Verify rear left fitment before installation and compare the original cable length and housing length to BC97517. Inspect the parking brake lever, equalizer, and rear brake hardware for wear before installing the new cable. After installation, confirm smooth cable movement and proper parking brake adjustment so the system engages and releases evenly.
