Detailed Product Description

The Schrader 33978 is a direct tire pressure monitoring system sensor built for vehicles that rely on in-wheel pressure data rather than indirect monitoring. Its programmable activation type allows the sensor to be configured for the proper vehicle application, while the clamp-in design and silver valve assembly support OE-style wheel service on many late-model platforms. The part number 33978 is commonly searched for TPMS replacement needs on vehicles such as the BMW X5, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and Toyota RAV4, along with many other listed applications.

Fitment coverage includes 2021-2026 Acura MDX, 2021-2026 BMW X5, 2021-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2022-2025 Ford F-150, 2022-2025 Lexus RX350, 2022-2025 Toyota RAV4, and many additional vehicles across the expanded application list. If you are replacing a failed TPMS sensor after a tire service, wheel swap, or warning light diagnosis, Schrader 33978 provides a direct-signal replacement path for supported vehicles.

This part cross-references common TPMS service applications used in OE-style replacement programs.

What It Helps Solve

• TPMS warning light caused by a failed sensor battery
• Inaccurate or missing tire pressure readings
• Sensor replacement after tire or wheel service
• Loss of communication between the wheel sensor and vehicle monitor
• Need for a programmable direct TPMS sensor on supported vehicles

Installation Notes and Tips

Program the sensor to the correct vehicle application before installation. Verify wheel and valve-stem compatibility, then follow the vehicle relearn or initialization procedure after mounting. Because this is a direct TPMS sensor, proper installation and system relearn steps are required for the vehicle to recognize the new sensor.

Quality Assurance

Schrader Valves backs this sensor with a 1-year manufacturer warranty. The 33978 is a direct-monitor TPMS component with real-time pressure transmission for supported applications.
