Hood Release Cable for Ford Focus

The SKP SK721021 hood release cable is a direct-fit replacement for select Ford Focus models. It restores the connection between the interior release handle and the hood latch for reliable opening and closing.

Key Features

  • Direct replacement hood release cable for body control cable service.
  • Fits 2000-2006 Ford Focus and 2007 Ford Focus built through 8/27/07.
  • Restores hood latch release function when the original cable is stretched, frayed, or broken.
  • SKP SK721021 is listed for the Ford Focus application shown in the fitment data.

Detailed Description

Use this hood release cable when the factory cable no longer transfers pull force cleanly from the cabin release to the hood latch. The SKP SK721021 is cataloged for 2000-2006 Ford Focus models and 2007 Ford Focus vehicles built through 8/27/07, making it a fitment-specific replacement for common hood-opening failures. This part cross-references Dorman - OE Solutions 912-048 for the same application.

What It Helps Fix

  • Broken or snapped hood release cable.
  • Sticking or inconsistent hood latch release.
  • Excessive slack in the release mechanism.
  • Loss of hood-opening function from cable wear or corrosion.

Installation Notes

Verify the vehicle build date before ordering, especially for 2007 Ford Focus applications. Compare the original cable routing and end connections to confirm proper replacement. Professional installation is recommended if access to the latch or interior release assembly is limited.

Quality Assurance

SKP catalogs this part as a fitment-specific replacement for the listed Ford Focus applications. Confirm the part number SK721021 and vehicle details against the fitment data before installation.
