Detailed Description

RU653HTK is used in the HVAC electrical circuit to regulate blower motor speed in the cabin heating and air conditioning system. When the resistor fails, the blower may stop working on one or more speeds, operate only at a single speed, or respond intermittently. This part number is listed for Saturn Vue and Chevrolet Equinox models with the high temperature connector configuration, making it a focused replacement for the specified applications.

Common Issues It Can Help Solve

• Blower motor works only on high speed
• One or more fan speeds do not operate
• Intermittent cabin airflow from the HVAC system
• Loss of blower control caused by a failed resistor circuit
• Heat-related connector service on listed applications

Installation Notes and Tips

Verify the connector style and vehicle application before installation. Inspect the blower motor connector and surrounding wiring for heat damage, corrosion, or melted terminals, since resistor failures often occur with connector damage. Confirm the replacement matches the original HVAC resistor layout for the vehicle before reconnecting the system.

Quality Assurance

Standard Ignition RU653HTK is cataloged as a Blue Streak Premium Quality part for the listed fitments. This part cross-references Monroe Shocks & Struts (e.g., 172286, 182286) for the same application.
