Detailed Description

Standard Ignition SC274 is a direct-fit vehicle speed sensor for Nissan Altima models from 2002 through 2006. The sensor uses a bolt-mount installation style and a single square connector to match the original electrical interface. With a female connector and male blade terminals, it is configured for straightforward replacement where the factory sensor has worn out, failed, or begun sending inconsistent speed data. This part cross-references Standard Motor Products (e.g., VSS79, VSS807) for the same application.

For drivers searching for a 2002 Nissan Altima vehicle speed sensor, a 2003-2006 Nissan Altima speed sensor replacement, or Standard Ignition SC274 fitment, this part is matched to the listed application only. It is a practical service part for maintaining proper vehicle speed signal performance in the Altima platform.

Common Issues This Part Can Address

• Inaccurate or erratic speedometer readings
• Loss of vehicle speed signal to the control system
• Transmission shifting concerns related to speed input
• Illuminated warning lights tied to speed sensor faults
• Intermittent drivability issues caused by a failing sensor

Installation Notes and Tips

Confirm connector shape, terminal style, and bolt-mount location before installation. Inspect the mating connector and wiring for corrosion or damage, and verify the mounting surface is clean so the sensor seats correctly. Because no wiring harness, bracket, or hardware is included, reuse or source any required vehicle-specific components as needed.

Quality Assurance

Standard Ignition SC274 is built as an OE-style replacement sensor for the listed Nissan Altima applications. Verify fitment against the vehicle year and model before installation to ensure the correct speed sensor is selected.
