Power Steering Pressure Line for Jeep CJ5/CJ7
Sunsong 3401735 is a power steering pressure line hose assembly built for 1980-1981 Jeep CJ5 and 1980-1981 Jeep CJ7 applications. It is engineered to meet demanding steering-system pressure requirements while supporting a precise OE-style fit for service replacement.
Key Features
- Fits 1980-1981 Jeep CJ5 and 1980-1981 Jeep CJ7
- Male O-ring fittings: 16 mm end 1 and 18 mm end 2
- 36 in. (914 mm) hose length
- CSM hose material for pressure-line service
- High-grade steel tubing with zinc electroplating for corrosion resistance
- Pressure tested before shipment for installation and operation checks
- Part number: 3401735
Detailed Description
This Sunsong power steering pressure line hose assembly is built to replace the pressure-side hose in steering systems that require a 16 mm male O-ring connection on one end and an 18 mm male O-ring connection on the other. The 36-inch hose length and OE-style engineering help maintain proper routing and connection points on Jeep CJ5 and Jeep CJ7 models from 1980-1981. Sunsong 3401735 uses high-grade steel tubing with zinc coating to resist rust and corrosion from humidity, road salt, water, and grime, while the hose construction is rated for demanding hydraulic service.
This part cross-references Four Seasons 55119 for the same application.
What It Helps Fix
- Power steering fluid leaks from a worn or damaged pressure hose
- Steering assist loss caused by pressure-line failure
- Cracked, corroded, or fatigued hose sections
- Improper hose routing from an incorrect replacement line
- Noise or steering effort changes related to pressure loss
Installation Notes and Tips
Verify end fitting sizes, hose length, and routing before installation. This assembly does not include a bracket or power steering switch port. Confirm the vehicle uses the listed male O-ring connections and compare the original line to the replacement before tightening fittings. For Jeep CJ5 and Jeep CJ7 pressure line replacement, clean the connection points and inspect surrounding steering components for wear or contamination.
Quality Assurance
Each hose is high-pressure tested at the factory before it leaves production. Sunsong states this pressure line exceeds original equipment performance standards with a 1,500 psi maximum working pressure, 8,700 psi burst pressure rating, and 1,600 lb tensile strength.
