Detailed Description
This power steering pressure hose assembly is built to replace the original pressure line on 2004-2005 Chevrolet Colorado and 2004-2005 GMC Canyon models equipped with Z71 suspension. The Sunsong 3402898 uses high-grade steel tubing with a zinc coating to help resist moisture, road salt, grime, and other underbody exposure. Its hose construction and end fittings are specified for direct replacement service, and the assembly is pressure tested before it leaves the factory. This part cross-references Gates 365909 for the same application.
Common Problems This Part Can Address
- Power steering fluid leaks from a worn or damaged pressure line
- Loss of steering assist caused by pressure loss in the hydraulic circuit
- Corrosion-related hose deterioration on exposed underbody routing
- Hard steering or inconsistent steering response from restricted fluid flow
- Noise or fluid seepage at aging hose connections
Installation Notes and Tips
Verify the vehicle is a 2004-2005 Chevrolet Colorado or 2004-2005 GMC Canyon with Z71 suspension before ordering. Confirm the end fittings match the existing line: 16 mm male O-ring on one end and 3/8 in male quick connect on the other. Inspect adjacent steering components, flush contaminated fluid if needed, and check routing clearance after installation to avoid contact with heat or moving parts.
Quality Assurance
Sunsong pressure hoses are manufactured to exceed original equipment performance standards, and each hose is high-pressure tested prior to shipment to support reliable installation and operation. The 3402898 is built for durable service in demanding steering applications.
