Detailed Description

This Walker knock sensor is used in engine management systems that monitor detonation and send a signal to the ECU for spark timing correction. It is a direct-fit style replacement for many Nissan and INFINITI vehicles, including Nissan Altima, Sentra, Maxima, Pathfinder, Frontier, Xterra, 240SX, 300ZX, Quest, D21, and INFINITI G20, Q45, QX4, I30, J30, M30, and QX4 applications. For buyers searching for a knock sensor for 1993-2001 Nissan Altima, a knock sensor for 1998-2001 Nissan Sentra, or a knock sensor for 1990-2001 INFINITI Q45, this part number 242-1024 is a relevant OE-style option.

This part cross-references Bosch 0986JG0830 and Standard Ignition KS79 for the same application.

What It Helps Address

• Knock sensor fault codes
• Audible spark knock or pinging under load
• Incorrect ignition timing response from the ECU
• Check engine light related to detonation sensor circuits
• Driveability issues tied to failed engine knock feedback

Installation Notes and Tips

Verify connector style, terminal count, and vehicle application before installation. This sensor uses a rectangular female connector with two blade terminals and does not include a wiring harness or mounting hardware. Confirm the exact model year and engine application, especially for 2000 Nissan Pathfinder builds noted as up to January 2000. Use the vehicle service information for torque and routing specifications.
