Burning smell inside car cabin. Immediate loss of power during acceleration. Engine stops abruptly coast to the side of the road and restart. Today is the second time, the first time happened two weeks ago

Egr cooler failure. Egr cooler developed, both an exhaust gas leak and control spring failure. Failure was seen in engine control light and later diagnosed in second trip to bmw dealer. Exhaust gas leak in engine compartment to grease air system is primary issue.

Started my 2008 bmw x5 4.8i with only 90,000 miles a big puddle formed under the car. Towed the car to independent shop they said the alternator bracket gasket went bad prematurely noted by the repair shop said it's a common factory defect an that there might be a recall out for this.
