Airbag light came on intermittently. Repair shop diagnosed clock spring. Replaced it. Problem was eliminated. I see this is a common occurrence for this vehicle. Jeep should have a recall and fix it at no cost. Only had about 38,000 miles on the vehicle when the clock spring went bad.

2007 jeep wrangler steering box loose and sloppy 43000 miles on vehicle. No off road use. Jeep starting pulling to right, and shimming at 52 mph. Been doing this for about 3-4000 miles took to dealer and will not repair under warranty, i consider this a safety hazard, dealer said it must be a defective part.

Fuel spills out (onto the ground) when i am filling up at a gas station in my '09 jeep wrangler rubicon. It is not safe and creates a hazardous condition at gas stations and for those who fill it up...this is me!
How to read this page
Every figure comes from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public complaint database, which holds every safety-related defect complaint filed by owners since 1995. We refresh it monthly and count each complaint once per component it names. Data through September 6, 2026.
NHTSA only accepts safety-related complaints. Rattles, paint, infotainment bugs and other annoyances are under-reported here, so this page is a map of what fails in ways owners consider dangerous, not a full reliability score.
Counts are raw. Use the year-over-year shape and the component mix, not the absolute numbers. Where a component maps to parts we stock, the row links to that category filtered to the year you are viewing. Air bag and seat belt complaints link to the recall checker instead, because those repairs are almost always covered.
