The front end began an uncontrollable wobble at about 55 miles per hour. The only way to stop it was to gradually slow down to a stop. There was no apparent reason for it to began. I did not hit anything. The road i was traveling was an improved smooth paved road. The car could not be controlled.

Another jeep same year and model had to have all their front end parts replaced too at the same dealership. Second water pump in two years egr valve replaced but check engine light still on maintenance was done by the manual with this jeep

When filling gas tank, gasoline "burps or spitsback" out of the vehicles gas tank after the fuel hose has clicked off. Approximately 1/4 to 1/2 gallon of fuel spills onto the bumper of vehicle and ground. To prevent it from happening i only fill my tank with 15 gallons after the low fuel light has come on.
How to read this page
Every figure comes from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public complaint database, which holds every safety-related defect complaint filed by owners since 1995. We refresh it monthly and count each complaint once per component it names. Data through September 6, 2026.
NHTSA only accepts safety-related complaints. Rattles, paint, infotainment bugs and other annoyances are under-reported here, so this page is a map of what fails in ways owners consider dangerous, not a full reliability score.
Counts are raw. Use the year-over-year shape and the component mix, not the absolute numbers. Where a component maps to parts we stock, the row links to that category filtered to the year you are viewing. Air bag and seat belt complaints link to the recall checker instead, because those repairs are almost always covered.
