The rear differential has failed and needs to be replaced. Very common problem with this year and model affecting the transmission and safety of anyone in or around the vehicle.

Worn bearings in rear differential at 65k miles. Began to make a humming sound which became progressively louder as it wore. The sound was the loudest between 30-55 mph. The differential had to be replaced.

Rear differential failure. Strong noise comes from the differential which needs to be replaced entirely. Highly distractive while driving at a speed more than 30 mph.
